The Small Warriors 4 Peace Summer Camp Scholarship Fund
The Small Warriors 4 Peace Summer Camp Scholarship Fund is for children whose mothers or fathers life was taken by the crime of domestic violence. Currently South Carolina ranks #2 in the Nation for homicide by intimate partner. There are many children that are left behind with no parents, one has been murdered the other incarcerated. Often times they are being raised by either a grandparent, relative or family friend. This year Think2xTwice.org has selected Quantrell Roberson age 6 and his younger sister Nevaeh Roberson age 5. Quantrell and Neveah's mother Kacy Roberson was murdered by her abusive boyfriend on January 18, 2011. At the time of her death she was 4 months pregnant. Quantrell and Neveah now live with thier grandmother Debbie Hyde. Our prayer is to funding for these children to attend summer day camp.
Our scholarship fund will enable children who without it would not be able to attend summer camp. The children will be exposed to a fun filled day in a safe environment with caring adults. Each camper will enjoy a day of swimming, movies, dance, karate, sports, etc. They will also receive breakfast and lunch while in attendance.
The children currently live in Anderson SC, which is where they will attend a sumer camp selected by their grandmother. Each camp last a total of 10 weeks, however sponsors may dictate amount of sponsorship and number of weeks they are willing to sponsor. Cost of summer day camp varies $45-$90 per week, sponsors may donate for a child to attend one week of camp, or donate on a week-to-week basis. Campers will be selected based on availability of funds.
